Iranians were very fond of Belgium’s Salvatore Adamo, who was one of Europe’s most popular singers of the 1960s and 1970s. Adamo was especially revered by Iran’s Francophone community, these having been schooled in French-language schools such as the Lycee Jeanne D’Arc and the Lycee Raz.
In honour of his Iranian fans, Adamo released an album in Tehran entitled
Les Chansons D’ Adamo A Tehran.

Adamo again visited Iran in the early 1970s where he appeared on national television. One of Adamo’s favorite hits in Iran was “Tombe la Neige” – see video below:
