A number of “Book of the Year” awards have been granted to experts in iranian Studies in February 9, 2012 (see the Iran Book News Report). One of these is Professor Professor Garnik Asatrian (Chair, Iranian Studies Department, Yerevan State University; Editor, “Iran and the Caucasus”, BRILL, Leiden-Boston) for his exemplary work: “The History and Culture of the Talishi People“.

This book was presented at a major Conference in Yerevan, Armenia entitled: The 2nd International Conference on Talishi Studieson 12-13 Nov 2011.

Another recipient of the Book of the Yearaward was Professor Manouchehr Moshtagh Khorasani for his excellent and comprehensive textbook pertaining to Iranian military history and terminology:

Lexicon of Arms and Armor from Iran: A Study of Symbols and Terminology 

Dr. Manouchehr Khorasani (0 seated at far left) in a symposium for experts of Iranian Studies in Tehran – he was one of the select experts of Iranian Studies who obtained the World Book Prize of Iran in the field of Iranian Studies in 2012.
