Kaveh Farrokh’s book, “Shadows in the Desert: Ancient Persia at War”  was  nominated as being among the top three history books of 2008 for the Bejamin Franklin Award by the Independent Book Publishers Association in the US.

Shadows in the Desert: Ancient Persia at War” was also awarded with the Best History Book of 2008 in London on October 31st, 2008 by the WAALM Society’s Persian Golden Lioness Awards. This was also cited by the widely read Iranian.com website.

This means that Farrokh’s book has been cited twice internationally in 2008 by independent reviewers for excellence in historiography.
